AppImages get icons, become more beautiful

I'm happy to report that AppImages created with the latest AppImageAssistant 0.9.1 are becoming more beautiful.

When the AppImage is launched, its icon is automatically placed in the icon cache, where the GNOME/KDE/XFCE/... file managers will magically pick it up.

Some file managers need the user to refresh/reopen the window in order for the icon to appear.

(Clarification: For this to take effect, an AppImage needs to be created with AppImageAssistant 0.9.1 or later; most AppImages on this site aren't yet.)

This is really cool. I guess if we take again the server I had written to create menu entries automatically, we could update this icon cache as well, couldn't we? Do you have any documentation link to do this, just in case anyone has the time to implement it?

The whole "trick" here is to not use a thumbnailer at all, but have the AppImage itself write the icon to the location where GNOME/... thumbnailers usually save their thumbnails :-)

This code is part of the AppImage runtime wrapper (written in C).
