AppImage persistence

Is there any plan to make apps packaged as appimages have a persistence feature for configs ?
something like a application-$ver-image.depot ... something of a gzipped file or similar , that lives near the appimage or in ~/App.depots or in a path manualy written in ~/.appimgcfg ...
this will be nice ... i think.

i think configs (and other stuff... bookmarks, gamesaves, aso ) should live in a single file for an appimage, so thy can be reused...

so... any plans for persistence ?

Wasn't klik doing this using an unionmount? I think it would still be useful for certain scenarios.

One could use http://podgorny.cz/moin/UnionFsFuse... I have tried it, works for me. You can write a custom AppRun script that sets up the unionfs and then runs the app.
